Roger Leach

Technical Director

In the 1970s, Roger developed a patented process for silvering acrylic mirrors that were both shatterproof and cuttable. This led to the development of Diamond Mirror. Further research and development resulted in a process for applying a unique powder colour coating to annealed glass, followed by a layer of aluminium foil. This product became known as Chromatics Safety Glass – the world’s first optically flat, thermally safe, impact-resistant coloured/printed glass that could be cut, edged and drilled from a stock sheet. Chromatics Glass today uses the same process.
